5 ChatGPT and Claude prompts for lawn care owners

Copy-paste prompts that answer from your real LawnPro account: a morning briefing, unbilled visits, quiet estimates, lawn-size load-outs and what time every crew gets back to the shop.

Updated October 14, 2026 · By Patrick Cash, founder of LawnPro

Before you start: connect ChatGPT or Claude to LawnPro under Settings > MCP, API & Integrations. You need to be the account owner, and the connector is included on the Startup, Grow and Plus plans. The setup guide walks through it.

Each prompt below only reads your account until you ask it to do something. Anything that changes LawnPro or reaches a customer waits for you to click Allow.

1. The morning briefing

One question replaces checking four screens before the trucks roll out.

Using LawnPro, give me this morning's briefing: what I'm owed, today's schedule, how revenue is tracking and anything that needs my attention. Keep it under 10 lines, biggest dollar amounts first. My time zone is America/New_York.

Change the time zone to yours. Without it, the briefing uses Central time.

2. Finished but not invoiced

Completed work that never got billed is the easiest money in the business to lose. This finds it.

Using LawnPro, list every visit we completed in the last 30 days that still hasn't been invoiced. Group them by customer with a total for each, then give me the grand total. Don't create any invoices yet.

It uses the same rules as the Invoice Unbilled Visits screen in LawnPro. Bill them from that screen so each visit is marked as invoiced.

3. Estimates nobody answered

Most lost quotes aren't lost on price. Nobody followed up.

Using LawnPro, show me open estimates older than 14 days, oldest first, with how much money is sitting in them. Then draft a short, friendly follow-up text for the three biggest. Don't send anything until I say so.

Declined, invoiced and archived estimates are left out. Texts only go to the number already on the customer's file, and only after you click Allow.

4. Tomorrow's load-out by lawn size

Know how much product each truck needs before anyone gets to the shop.

Using LawnPro, how many square feet of lawn is each crew doing tomorrow? Use the lawn size saved on each property. Tell me how many properties are missing a lawn size. Then work out how many pounds of fertilizer each crew needs at 3 lb per 1,000 sq ft.

Swap in your own product and rate, and check the math against the label. Properties with no lawn size saved are counted as missing, never guessed. If you track product in a number custom field, such as gallons on each visit, ask for the total of that field instead.

5. What time is every crew back at the shop?

Find out who is running long while there's still time to move a stop.

Using LawnPro, what time will each crew be back at the shop today? Crews leave at 7:00. Flag any crew that runs past the end of the work day and any stops with no budgeted hours.

These are estimates from each visit's budgeted hours and the drive between stops, in Routes page order. For today, open stops are re-timed from now. A stop with no budgeted hours counts as zero time on site, which is why the prompt asks the assistant to flag them. Ask about tomorrow by changing "today."

What the assistant can and can't do

It can read your customers, invoices, estimates, schedule and routes whenever you ask. It can't change anything on its own. When it wants to send a text, create an invoice or move a visit, it hands you a LawnPro link with a plain summary, and nothing happens until you click Allow. If you use one assistant constantly, you can turn on Trust this connection so its changes skip that step. That's your choice, and you can turn it off at any time.

It only sees the areas of your account you approved when you connected it, and only your company. Disconnect it from your settings and it stops reading immediately.

More examples are on the MCP feature page.

Frequently asked questions

Do these prompts work in both ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. Once the LawnPro connector is connected, the same prompts work in ChatGPT and Claude on the web or on your phone. The connector is included on the Startup, Grow and Plus plans.

Can the assistant change my account on its own?

No. Looking things up is instant, but anything that changes your account or reaches a customer waits until you click Allow in LawnPro. The only exception is a connection you have chosen to trust, and you can turn that off at any time.

Are the back-at-shop times exact?

No. They are estimates built from each visit's budgeted hours and the drive time between stops. Visits with no budgeted hours count as zero time on site, so the assistant tells you when that makes a time too early.

What happens if a property has no lawn size saved?

It is left out of the total and counted as missing. The assistant never guesses a lawn size, so ask it how many were missing and fill those in on the property form.

Can the assistant see other companies' data?

No. The connection opens your company and nothing else, and it can only see the areas you approved when you connected it. Card details are never exposed.
