Alright, in this video, we’re going to show you how to apply a payment to an invoice in LawnPro.

From the main screen we want to click on manage invoice payments and this pops up the invoice payments page.
Select the invoice you want to pay and it will show you the invoice total, the amount that’s been paid, and a balance. For example, this one the invoice total is thirty-five dollars. Nothing has been paid, the balance is thirty-five dollars.
So we’re going to have the date the payment was made and we’re going to put the amount of the payment and you can put notes or you can put a description (I usually just leave them blank).
Click “save payment” and it will remove that from the unpaid invoice list. If you want to go down here and view you can view paid invoices and you’ll see the invoice I just paid is marked as paid, and that’s all there is to applying payments to invoices in LawnPro.

In this video, I want to show you how to set up the calendar in Lawn Pro lawn care software.
There’s just a few settings but it’s really helpful.

On the main screen, go the settings and calendar settings. This will bring up the calendar settings box. It lets you tell it what time your work day begins, what time your work day ends, the first day of the week for you, and the weekend preferences.

If you set the weekend preferences that you don’t mow on Saturdays or Sundays, Lawn Pro will automatically bump any visits to the next day. For instance, if you schedule something on a Saturday or Sunday, it will bump them to Monday.
The software will tell you that it does that, but this is a feature we have in there so you don’t have something scheduled on a day you don’t work. But it lets you set the first day of the work week.

You can tell it if you mow on Saturdays and Sundays or you only mow on Sundays, but not Saturdays or you mow on Saturdays but not Sundays. Or the way we have it set we don’t mow on Saturdays or Sundays. And you can tell it what time you start your work day.

You can set it anytime you’d like to set it, in fifteen minute increments, and what this does, oh, I’ve got to save my changes and what this does is it tells LawnPro what time to start your scheduling calendar every day. So it’s a really handy feature to have.
That’s all there is to setting up the calendar

There are lots of ways to market your lawn care business. some are working great! Some are becoming outdated (sorry yellow page companies).

Two of my favorite ways for getting new customers for your lawn care business is by using full color door hangers and postcards.

In case you don’t know, you can’t put postcards in mailboxes. (That’s illegal.)
What you can do is put out door hangers in areas where you know people pay to have their lawn work done. You can buy very high quality, glossy, full color door hangers for almost next to nothing when you buy them in volume. The best way I’ve found is to have a few different door hangers…One for mowing, one for low voltage lighting, one to tell about our fertilization services, etc. I can pay high school kids or local college students to put out the door hangers for me. When we spend money marketing this way, it’s pretty easy to know if it is effective. You can measure your results by tracking how many phone calls you get / jobs you get from the areas you put out the door hangers.

Along these same lines are postcards. With postcards I can buy a small mailing list of a neighborhood, homes in a certain zip code, or all of the houses withing a certain radius of any given address. Both post cards and door hangers seem to work equally as well for our lawn care business.

If you think about what a customer is worth to you over the course of a year , easily hundreds of dollars and in some case thousands, marketing with really nice full color marketing materials like these is really a bargain!

I hope this has given you some ideas and gets you thinking about using postcards and door hangers for your lawn care or landscaping business.
